Did you ever have a class of English(to learn first language) in school age?
In JPN, there is a [国語]Kokugo-class which means to learn their mother tongue. That includes grammar, kanji, and classical literature.
We study 国語 very very long time about 6 to 18. We even Japanese, the Kanji study is a hard effort.
I had heard once from english teacher, "There is no Class to learn English in U.S."
Is that true?
I am very interesting in it.
I thought sometimes, which is important the ancient culture or rationality.
And have a delusion that the native language of Japan might be an english in future.
